Opening Hearts with Gifts of Love
A brief History,
In 1987, the Lord called Effie to begin the ministry of Missions With A Heart. The women’s ministry leadership team had asked her three times if she would be willing to head up this missions sewing group. She had answered with an in emphatic “NO! I don’t sew, I don’t like to sew.” End of subject.
As she was sitting on her couch at home one afternoon, the Lord spoke to her and said “they are not asking you, I am!”
Needless to say Missions With A Heart has been serving and ministering for over 35 years and has reached into over 65 countries around the world. Her husband, Bill, served faithfully alongside of her. They made an incredible team.
“Then the King will say to those on His right hand, ‘Come, you blessed of My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world:
For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink;
I was a stranger and you took Me in;
I was naked and you clothed Me;
I was sick and you visited Me;
I was in prison and you came to Me.’
Matthew 25:34-40 NKJV
Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’”
“If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead. If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.”
James 2:15-17 NKJV
November 10, 2022,
We had some very special visitors drop in during our sewing day.
They shared with us the most exciting testimony! Because they provided menstrual kits for all of the women in a Kenyan village, the men who had wanted nothing to do with the missionaries or the gospel, have had an entirely change of heart and attitude. They, too, are now welcoming the Gospel of Jesus Christ into their village! Praise the Lord!!!
We are so excited and blessed to work with these missionaries and pastors and supply what they need.
